A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

The Barbara H. Hagan School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Molloy University seeks a full-time faculty member to participate in the delivery of our new Physician Assistant program. We seek certified Physician Assistant candidates with clinical and education expertise, as well as experience with ARC-PA accreditation, curriculum development, and student mentorship, along with enthusiasm for interprofessional education, collaboration with colleagues, teaching, and service, to join our supportive and energetic community of teacher-scholars. All our health professions programs take a holistic and personalized approach to developing students as clinicians, leaders, and advocates for health equity and healthcare improvement, as well as lifelong learners. The ideal candidate will embody these values and possess the qualifications to teach and evaluate PA students, mentor students and faculty, develop curriculum, participate in program accreditation, and collaborate effectively on interdisciplinary activities, engagement with clinical partners, program assessment, and participation on program, school, and university committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum requirements: Certified Physician Assistant with eligibility for unrestricted licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York State. Doctoral Degree is required. 5 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in clinical practice. Teaching experience in a graduate-level Physician Assistant program is preferred.
Salary Information:
When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000. This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting. The salary range for this position reflects a calendar year (12 month) teaching commitment.
