An Orthopedics Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in concert with an orthopedist, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.
St. Joseph's Health is seeking per diem PAs and NP RFNAs to join our inpatient orthopedic surgery team in Syracuse, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of hospital employed orthopedic surgeons and Advanced Practitioners in a hospital-based setting, providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures.
Position Details:
First assist in surgical procedures ED Ortho (reduction/splinting/casting/injections). Inpatient management of orthopedic surgery patients Pre- and post-operative assessments, rounding, discharge planning Collaboration with surgeons, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams NYS licensure as PA or NP (RFNA) required DEA certification required
ACLS/BLS
certification required Experience in orthopedic or surgical inpatient care required New grads will not be considered
Compensation:
$110.00 per hour
