The primary focus of this role will be providing first-assist support for GYN surgical procedures and Cesarean sections , along with supporting the OB/GYN team in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Position Highlights Full-time, 1.0 FTE Primary focus: First assist in GYN surgery and Cesarean sections OB/GYN call: 1:4 Collaborative practice with experienced OB/GYN physicians and clinical staff Opportunity to participate in a broad range of gynecologic surgical procedures and obstetric care Practice within a supportive community hospital environment Key Responsibilities Serve as first surgical assistant for GYN procedures, including laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, vaginal, and open surgical cases as appropriate Provide first-assist support during Cesarean deliveries Assist physicians with preoperative and postoperative patient management Perform patient histories and physical examinations and assist with development of treatment plans Provide perioperative patient care, including surgical preparation and postoperative follow-up Assist with inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN patient management as needed Participate in the OB/GYN call rotation of 1:4 Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, surgical staff, patients, and families Promote safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Ohio Physician Assistant license or eligibility for Ohio licensure NCCPA certification (or eligibility, as applicable) Current BLS certification; additional certifications as required by the position Surgical first-assist experience strongly preferredA Experience in OB/GYN, gynecologic surgery, and/or obstetrics preferred Experience with robotic-assisted surgery is a plus and highly desirable Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical and obstetric environment Key Perks and Benefits 401k - automatic employer contribution of 4.5% beginning day one.
