A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

ASSISTANT
CITY PHYSICIAN
(POL. 109)
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet the following criteria: (a) Graduation from an accredited medical school with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oklahoma, and current board certification in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Occupational Medicine ; and (b) Six (6 ) years ' progressively responsible professional experience in the practice of medicine.
HOURS:
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
LOCATION
1638 S. Main St. (TM) Click for Exempt pay scale
Licenses and Certificates:
a) Possession of a valid Oklahoma C lass "D" Driver license ; and, b) Possession of certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support ; and c) Registration with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) .
