Perfusionist Tulsa, Oklahoma Full-Time Direct Hire $161,262.41 Annual Salary Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Perfusionist to support cardiothoracic and multi-specialty surgical services in a high-acuity surgical environment. The Perfusionist will be responsible for managing cardiopulmonary bypass procedures during cardiac surgery and providing cell saver services for orthopedic, cardiac, and neurosurgical cases. This role requires strong technical expertise, clinical judgment, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced surgical setting while ensuring patient safety and adherence to all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Select and prepare the appropriate perfusion circuit and prime solutions based on patient needs, surgical procedure, and physician preference.
  • Assemble, test, and maintain disposable and non-disposable components of the cardiopulmonary bypass circuit.
  • Ensure proper function and safety of the heart-lung machine and all associated equipment.
  • Manage patients on cardiopulmonary bypass, including monitoring physiological parameters and supporting pharmacologic interventions.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of pump physiology and its effects on patient homeostasis.
  • Maintain continuous awareness of surgical procedures and adjust perfusion parameters accordingly.
  • Perform cell saver procedures for orthopedic, cardiac, and neurosurgical patients.
  • Execute non-routine and emergent perfusion procedures under dynamic surgical conditions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory, institutional, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other perioperative staff.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clinical teams, including leadership-level stakeholders.
  • Ensure all equipment, supplies, and perfusion-related systems are properly maintained and ready for use. Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited perfusion program (CAHEA/CAAHEP or equivalent).
  • Degree in Health Sciences or related field required.
  • Current or eligible licensure as a Perfusionist in the state of Oklahoma (out-of-state candidates considered if willing to obtain licensure).
  • 1 2 years of experience preferred; new graduates will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of cardiopulmonary bypass procedures and cardiovascular physiology. Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a highly technical surgical setting.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative teams.
