We are seeking a Physician Associate (Physician Assistant) to join our established outpatient sleep medicine practice in Portland, Oregon. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced, collaborative team of physicians, physician associates, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff in a supportive and close-knit environment. Our Medical Director, Dr. Chad Hagen, is a board-certified Sleep Medicine physician and has been awarded Portland Monthly Top Doc in Sleep Medicine who is passionate about teaching, collaboration, and discussing complex cases with our clinical team. Our ideal candidate will work approximately 20-36 hours per week, although we offer significant flexibility in both the days of the week worked and the length of each workday. We are open to both part-time and full-time candidates and are happy to discuss a schedule that works well for both the provider and the practice.
Responsibilities:
The Physician Associate will provide outpatient evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with a variety of sleep disorders.
Responsibilities include:
Evaluating and treating patients with sleep disorders, with a primary focus on obstructive sleep apnea, as well as conditions such as restless legs syndrome and insomnia Reviewing PAP therapy and making recommendations for adjustments to CPAP and other positive airway pressure (PAP) devices Providing ongoing follow-up and education for patients undergoing sleep disorder treatment Collaborating closely with our physicians and clinical team on patient care and treatment planning Participating in medication management for sleep disorders in collaboration with the supervising physician Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record Providing compassionate, patient-centered care consistent with current standards and best practices in sleep medicine
QualificationsRequired:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Physician Associate program Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Oregon Current DEA registration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Preferred:
Previous experience in sleep medicine Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) Experience managing patients with obstructive sleep apnea and PAP therapy
