Summary/Objective:
OAL is seeking an additional full-time Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Hand & Wrist team. Our Hand & Wrist team consists of three (3) Orthopedic Hand & Wrist Surgeons and one (1) Orthopedic Physician Assistant, as well as our specialized Hand Therapy Department. The Hand Therapy Department consists of six (6) Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) and two (2) Certified Occupational Therapists (OTCs). OAL's Hand Therapy patients have the ability to receive care in all five (5) OAL clinic locations. The Physician Assistant in this role will have the opportunity to become part of a multi-specialty group that prioritizes patient care and has a longstanding tradition of excellence in the community, spanning five office locations and two outpatient surgical centers. Typical week schedule includes independent clinical schedule, working as a surgical first assist in our ambulatory orthopedic outpatient surgical center or in one of the local hospitals that this Physician Assistant will have privileges. The Physician Assistant will also take call shifts a few times per month. Additional compensation is provided for those undertaking on-call duties.
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the physician in the identification, treatment, and management or orthopedic problems. Work as the first assist in surgery. Assist physicians in office by performing complete, detailed, and accurate histories, review of patient records, and documentation in EMR system. Examine and treat orthopedic patients, to include injections and reductions. Establish rapport, educate, and counsel patients and family as to current situation, developing and implementing a treatment plan. Maintains and acquires knowledge and skills to perform required duties to meet all office, hospital, state, organizational and licensure requirements. Assist with trauma call coverage as part of a regular rotation of a combination of telephonic call during the weekdays and one 24-hour call shift with rounding responsibilities one weekend per month. Total call shifts may average to 4 call shifts per month. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Experience in outpatient evaluation and management. Current ACLS Certification.
