Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) Hematology/Oncology Hillman Cancer Center - Shadyside a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } UPMC is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our Hematology / Oncology team . This role is ideal for an APP who is passionate about inpatient cancer care and wants to practice within a collaborative environment.

•A shadowing day in-person will be required as part of our interview process.

Hours:

8, 10, 12 hr shifts, 7 days/week incl. weekends, 80 hrs/2 weeks

The role supports both experienced APPs and new graduates seeking strong mentorship in oncology care. Hillman Cancer Center is a leader in cancer care, offering cutting-edge treatments and compassionate support. Join a team of over 200 Advanced Practice Providers across the Hillman Cancer Center Network with an APP lead reporting structure.

•Medical oncology (solid tumor team) is made up of 22 APPs, covering a broad range of acute medical needs.

Advanced Practice Provider:

The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) is a collaborative member of the care team who provides high-quality patient care through independent clinical judgment and physician collaboration. The APP manages patient care across the continuum, builds strong interdisciplinary relationships, and demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and emerging leadership within the healthcare team. The successful candidate will be placed according to years and months of experience for employment purposes. The posted salary range for this position is for the Senior level which requires three (3) or more years of experience.

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality patient care by applying sound clinical judgment, effective communication, and evidence-based practice. Develop and implement individualized plans of care that support patient safety, quality outcomes, and satisfaction. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver coordinated care and patient education. Actively seek feedback, guidance, and learning opportunities to continuously strengthen clinical skills and professional practice. Contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, ethical awareness, accountability, and teamwork. Participate in quality improvement efforts, support colleagues, and engage in initiatives that enhance patient care and the clinical practice environment.
