In this vital role, you will utilize your advanced nursing skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patient health needs, ensuring comprehensive care that promotes wellness and recovery. Your expertise will support a wide range of medical services, from acute care to chronic disease management, in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives while working in a fast-paced, innovative environment committed to excellence. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform accurate diagnoses. Manage acute and chronic conditions utilizing evidence-based practices, including prescribing medications and developing treatment plans. Perform physical exams, VA Exam, DOT Physicals, order and interpret labs/imaging, and develop treatment plans. Prescribe medications per state law and clinic protocols. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records. Collaborate with healthcare teams in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, hospice care, or nursing homes to coordinate patient care plans. Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and deliver timely medical advice remotely. Engage in clinical research initiatives and utilize diagnostic tools like sonography or laboratory testing to enhance patient evaluations. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your practicing state. Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable. DEA registration Certification required for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (the clinic can help in registering) VA Training required (the clinic will provide training) Minimum [1-2] years clinical experience preferred (new grads considered) Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Familiarity with CPT coding standards for billing purposes and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate documentation of diagnoses. Experience working within HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
