Job Description
Orthopedic Institute of North Texas (OINT) Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex | Full-Time | Travel Required Orthopedic Institute of North Texas (OINT) is a rapidly growing, physician-owned orthopedic practice seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our surgical team as a dedicated Surgical First Assistant. This is a 100% operating room position with no clinic responsibilities, or on call rotation. The selected Physician Assistant will rotate among our four highly respected orthopedic surgeons and travel to hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Function exclusively as a Surgical First Assistant for four orthopedic surgeons.
- Provide intraoperative assistance during upper and lower extremity orthopedic procedures.
- No clinic, office, or routine patient follow-up responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as Surgical First Assistant during orthopedic surgical procedures.
- Travel to multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers throughout DFW.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and comply with hospital, ASC, OSHA, and infection prevention policies.
- Provide tissue handling, exposure, suction, hemostasis, wound closure, dressings, and immobilization.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, OR nurses, surgical technologists, and vendors.
- Complete all required surgical documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Texas Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in good standing.
- Current NCCPA Certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Orthopedic surgical first assist experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with upper and lower extremity orthopedic procedures.
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
