Works in concert with an orthopedist, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.

Responsibilities:
Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician. Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures. Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions. Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
1 year of experience preferred.
