Job Description

Description Job Summary We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team in Texarkana, TX . This role offers a balanced mix of inpatient care, outpatient clinic responsibilities, and first assist duties in the operating room . The ideal candidate is comfortable managing pre- and post-operative care, seeing patients independently in clinic, and supporting the surgical team in the OR. This position requires flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as needed to support patient care and surgical schedules. Key Responsibilities First assist in the operating room for a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures Provide inpatient rounding, consultations, and post-operative follow-up care Conduct outpatient clinic visits, including initial evaluations and follow-up appointments Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests Perform in-office orthopedic procedures such as joint injections, splinting, or casting as appropriate Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, nursing staff, therapy teams, and care coordinators Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, post-operative expectations, and rehabilitation goals Qualifications Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) Previous orthopedic surgery experience preferred Experience or comfort with first assist duties and managing musculoskeletal patient populations Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work independently Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as needed Schedule & Compensation Full-time schedule with variable hours based on patient and surgical needs Competitive salary, based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Why Texarkana?
