Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our thriving family practice in the Ghent area of Norfolk. Family Physicians of Tidewater is a small privately owned practice that is not associated with any major healthcare system. This affords our providers greater autonomy and the freedom to refer patients to Specialists that they feel can provide the best specialty care for each patient, unlike many other physicians who are required to refer to within their multi -specialty group. As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will help us deliver high-quality care to patients of all ages and address their diverse needs. Our practice is committed to promoting the health and well-being of our community through preventative care, education, and treatment of a wide array of health conditions. We are looking for someone who can work well with us as a member of the team, but the PA will also be allotted plenty of autonomy. Our patients are used to seeing a PA and enjoy the expertise that they bring to their healthcare. The practice will assist the PA to acquire patients for them to follow, but the PA will also be encouraged to help the practice grow. Our clinic is exclusively outpatient, and the job does not require any night call. Compensation for the position is to include an annual salary as well as bonus potential based on productivity.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments that allow for the diagnosis and treatment of different medical conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies to inform treatment decisions. Work as a full-time provider seeing patients from 8AM- 4:30PM, Monday- Friday Provide preventative care services such as vaccinations and screenings to promote overall health. Assist in minor surgical procedures and other therapies as needed within the scope of practice. Document patient encounters accurately and maintain electronic health records in compliance with regulations. Requirements Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program. Active VA state medical licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant. Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems is preferred. Experience is not required, but applicants should have a strong understanding of family medicine principles and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team and demonstrate leadership when necessary.
