Avenues to Wellness affiliated with Walnut Avenue Associates, is hiring a part-time or full-time Virginia Licensed PMHNP-BC or Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join a busy private outpatient practice in Roanoke, VA working with a team of two Psychiatrist and two Physician Assistants. The applicant will see patients related to psychiatric medication management in office and by telemedicine. We work with both children and adults who are living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. At present, the position can be full or part-time Monday through Thursday, or virtual on Friday. Experience

• Valid certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with specialization or experience in psychiatry.
• Experience working within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Prior experience in diverse settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, telehealth platforms, or community mental health programs.
• Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles, medication administration protocols, and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
• We will help with the process of getting credentialed with Medicare and Advantage plans, Virginia Medicaid and MCOs, and commercial insurances.

This position requires the ability to work independently with no malpractice claims and the successful completion of pre-employment checks to include Criminal, Medicare/Medicaid Database; Commonwealth of Virginia child abuse registry; Education/Certifications Verification. The applicant will be board certified and must maintain a Virginia license to practice and the license by the Drug Enforcement Administration for prescribing medications in Schedules II-VI.
