Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Position Overview:
As an Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at Vernon Health, you will provide comprehensive orthopedic care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis support, treatment planning, follow-up care, patient education, and assistance with orthopedic procedures. You will collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, primary care providers, nursing services, rehabilitation services, and surgical teams to support patients with musculoskeletal injuries, joint pain, fractures, arthritis, sports injuries, degenerative conditions, and other orthopedic concerns throughout Viroqua, Vernon County, and the Driftless Region.
Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and manage patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions in the clinic setting. Assist orthopedic surgeons with treatment planning, pre-operative visits, post-operative follow-up, and patient education. Support orthopedic procedures and coordinate care with surgery, imaging, rehabilitation, nursing, and primary care teams. Provide care for common orthopedic concerns such as joint pain, fractures, arthritis, sprains, sports injuries, and degenerative conditions. Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with Vernon Health standards.
Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current Wisconsin Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, or ability to obtain. Orthopedic, musculoskeletal, surgical, urgent care, emergency medicine, or related clinical experience preferred.
