We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing Heart & Vascular Institute in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This leadership role combines advanced clinical practice with APP team oversight while working alongside a collaborative team of cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary providers. Position Highlights Leadership role within the Cardiothoracic Surgery service Combination of clinical care and APP leadership responsibilities Opportunity to participate in staff development, quality improvement, and program growth Collaborative Heart & Vascular Institute with strong physician and APP support Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including preoperative and postoperative management. Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons. Lead and mentor the APP team, assisting with staffing, onboarding, credentialing, scheduling, and professional development. Coordinate multidisciplinary care and ensure high-quality, patient-centered outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, research, and departmental leadership activities. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards. Qualifications Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or FNP preferred) or NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant. Minimum of 3 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience required. Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program. Current BLS certification (ACLS as required by the department). Must obtain and maintain both West Virginia and Virginia licensure. Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
