West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Program Director of the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Thisposition is a full-time, 12-month tenure track faculty position with administrative responsibilities and reports to the Dean of the Collegeof Sciences. The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continuedstatus to the West Liberty University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by West Liberty University with an approximate date for the nextvalidation review in March 2035.Essential Functions of the position:
The program director is responsible forproviding effective leadership and management to the Physician Assistant Studies Program at West Liberty University. The responsibilities ofthe Program Director include the supervision of the medical director, principal and instructional faculty, and staff working within the PAprogram, program organization, program administration, fiscal management of the program, effective communication, continuous programmaticreview and analysis, completion of ARC-PA required documents, and adherence to the Standards and ARC-PA policies (ARC- PA Standards, 6thEditionA2.09, A2.10
). In addition, the program director represents the program and the PA profession at institutional andextra-institutional functions and activities. The PA Program Director will oversee the administration of departmental assessments andreports; work with PA faculty and staff, Graduate Studies, and Admissions staff to recruit students into the program and to coordinate theadmissions process; evaluate, develop, and implement curriculum according to ARC-PA standards and participate in the graduate CurriculumCommittee; conduct program evaluations and submit annual evaluation reports to the Provost/VP Academic Affairs Office; supervise theAcademic and Clinical Coordinators, as well as thePA Administrative Education & Experience Requirements:
Three years of full-time higher education experience in a PA program. Graduation from an accredited physician assistantprogram. Master's degree minimum. Current or emeritus NCCPA certification required. Licensed or eligible forlicensure in the state of West Virginia. Knowledge of the physician assistant accreditation process. Excellentorganizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:
DoctorateDegree in related field preferred. Previous experience in PA program administration and the ARC-PA accreditationprocess Previous experience in curriculum development and program assessment Five years of clinical experience as apracticing PA.Application Requirements:
