Job Description
Join our Growing Referral Team in Arizona [1] Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center (CVMC) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Equine Internal Medicine Specialist to join our collaborative team in Cave Creek, Arizona. As the largest equine referral center in Arizona, CVMC provides advanced referral, emergency, and ambulatory care to a diverse population of performance and pleasure horses throughout the greater Phoenix and Scottsdale area. This is an opportunity to join an established referral practice while helping grow and shape our internal medicine service. You'll work alongside equine specialists and ambulatory veterinarians in a team-focused environment with a strong referral network and a commitment to high-quality patient care. The Opportunity Provide advanced equine internal medicine and emergency care in a hospital-based referral setting Build and expand the internal medicine caseload and referral service Collaborate with surgery, ambulatory, and visiting specialists Participate in shared after-hours emergency coverage Mentor and support interns and veterinary support staff Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians and clients Ambulatory work available based on interest State-of-the-Art Facility Our Cave Creek hospital offers the equipment and support needed for complex referral cases, including: 12-stall climate-controlled ICU and isolation facility Standing MRI and nuclear scintigraphy Digital radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy On-site laboratory Two surgical suites with padded induction and recovery areas Dedicated nursing and support staff What We're Looking For DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited institution Completion of an ACVIM- or ECVIM-recognized internal medicine residency Board certification or eligibility in equine internal medicine Eligible for veterinary licensure in Arizona Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills A collaborative, service-oriented approach to patient care Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience and board certification, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
