Director OB/GYN - Casa Grande, AZ
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Responsible for the overall management of the OB/GYN department. The
OB/GYN DIRECTOR
aids the Medical Director and
CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER
by providing clinical leadership. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop physician office, and call schedules for respective department. Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate OB/GYN Physicians, and mid-level OB/GYN Providers. Assist the manager in supervising medical assistants' performance of OB/GYN medical tasks and skills. Examines patients, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis of disease, illness and injury and decides care plan, or follow-up procedures. Instruct nurses, medical assistants, back-office assistants regarding assistance with patient care.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
2-5 Years experience in medicine, preferably in a group setting Ability to work effectively with as team player Ability to suggest and write policies and procedures specific to the OB/GYN department Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a four-year undergraduate, 4 years Medical School, 1-year rotating Internship, 2 years Residency Board Certified OB/GYN M.D. or D.O. degree Current Arizona license Experience as a Chief of Obstetrics or Chief of Medical Staff Experience supervising, planning, assigning, and directing work of OB/GYN Providers and support staff. Experience as a member or peer review committee, surgical care committee, or similar committees. Administrative and Management experience.
