Position Summary:
The Regional Director of Ophthalmology and Optical Services is responsible for the operational leadership, strategic oversight, and performance optimization of multi-site ophthalmology clinics and optical retail locations within an assigned geographic region. This leader ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, and financial performance by supporting local site leaders, driving standardization, and aligning operations with company-wide goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations across all ophthalmology and optical locations in the region. Lead, coach, and support clinic managers, optical supervisors, and key site staff. Ensure clinical and optical operations are efficient, compliant, and patient-centered. Drive performance metrics including patient access, revenue, quality, optical sales, and staff engagement. Partner with physician leadership to improve care delivery and promote provider alignment. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures across all sites. Analyze operational data to inform decisions, optimize workflows, and address underperformance. Collaborate with support functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, IT, Revenue Cycle) to ensure full operational support. Lead initiatives related to growth, access expansion, patient experience, and cost containment. Manage budgets, staffing plans, and inventory control for both clinical and optical operations.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field strongly preferred. 5+ years of multi-site operational leadership experience in healthcare or retail; ophthalmology or optical industry experience highly preferred. Strong understanding of clinical workflows, optical retail management, and revenue cycle processes. Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive organizational change. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region.
