Specialty Experience We Are Looking For Ideal candidates will have strong coding experience in one or more of the following areas: Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Cardiac Surgery Cardiology Pediatric Cardiology Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Interventional Radiology (IR) Candidates with experience across multiple specialties listed above are strongly preferred. What You'll Do Accurately review and code complex physician, hospital, and surgical services. Code inpatient and outpatient procedures, diagnostic testing, and other physician services. Review documentation and charges for accurate reimbursement. Apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines. Submit and review charges within Epic. Identify coding trends, discrepancies, and potential compliance issues. Research and resolve complex coding questions. Communicate with physicians and clinical teams regarding coding and documentation. Assist with training and mentoring coding staff. Help ensure coding practices comply with organizational policies and applicable coding standards. Required Experience 5+ years of medical coding experience within a hospital or physician-office environment. 2+ years of specialty coding experience , with strong preference for Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery, or Interventional Radiology. Expert-level knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding . Experience coding complex physician and surgical procedures. Experience working directly with physicians and clinical teams. Strong understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail. Epic Experience Candidates should be highly experienced with Epic, particularly Epic charge submission and charge processing.
Certification Required:
CPC, CCS, or equivalent professional coding certification
Highly Preferred:
CIRCC certification Specialty-specific coding certification Education High school diploma or GED required.
