Job Description
We are offering a Advanced Practice locum primary care opportunity in Northern CA designed for dedicated healthcare professionals seeking to provide comprehensive patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. This role involves delivering high quality medical services across diverse patient populations, supporting healthcare teams, and ensuring continuity of care. The position is ideal for advanced practice providers with a strong foundation in outpatient medicine, eager to contribute their expertise while enjoying the flexibility of temporary assignments. Candidates must possess excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to patient centered care. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations. Manage a broad spectrum of outpatient health concerns, including chronic disease management and preventive care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans and discharge instructions. Perform procedures as required, including suturing, basic life support interventions, and minor outpatient procedures like dermatology or wound care. Provide health coaching and education to promote lifestyle modifications and disease prevention strategies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical records for all patients. Participate in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and practice standards. Skills Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic or similar electronic medical record platforms. Experience with inpatient and outpatient settings, including hospital medicine, urgent care, and primary care clinics. Ability to perform clinical procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, airway management, and basic diagnostic radiology interpretation (CT scans). Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients from varied backgrounds and coordinate care with healthcare teams. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as Level I trauma centers or critical care units. Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications in specialized areas like neurocritical care or pediatric critical & intensive care are advantageous.
