Paid per patient seen; compensation is based on the number of patients evaluated About the Practice We are a private Pediatric Gastroenterology practice dedicated to providing compassionate, specialized care to children and their families. We are seeking a Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA-C) who is passionate about working with children, enjoys building strong relationships with families, and is interested in developing specialized expertise in Pediatric Gastroenterology. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pediatric PA who wants to work closely with an experienced Pediatric Gastroenterologist and receive hands-on training in the evaluation and management of common pediatric gastrointestinal conditions. Position Overview The Physician Assistant will initially work closely with an experienced Pediatric Gastroenterologist to become familiar with our practice, patient population, clinical protocols, and approach to Pediatric Gastroenterology. As training progresses, the PA will transition to independently evaluating and managing patients, including: Conducting new patient consultations Performing follow-up visits Obtaining detailed pediatric medical histories and performing physical examinations Evaluating and managing common pediatric gastrointestinal conditions Developing appropriate assessment and treatment plans under established practice protocols Reviewing laboratory and diagnostic results Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, nutrition, medications, and follow-up care Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers Collaborating closely with the Pediatric Gastroenterologist and other members of the practice Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation FibroScan Training The PA will also have the opportunity to receive specialized training in the use of a FibroScan® device . Over time, the PA will be trained to: Properly operate the FibroScan device Prepare and educate pediatric patients and their families about the procedure Perform FibroScan examinations according to established protocols Obtain and document appropriate measurements Perform FibroScans on designated days of the week as part of the practice's clinical servicesQualifications Required:
Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification Appropriate state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant Previous experience working in Pediatrics is required Strong clinical assessment and communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children and their families Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with pediatric patients of varying ages Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a specialist Strong organizational and documentation skills Professional, dependable, and team-orientedPreferred:
Bilingual in English and Spanish Previous experience in Pediatrics or Pediatric specialty practice Interest in developing specialized expertise in Pediatric Gastroenterology Experience working with children with complex or chronic medical conditions Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a warm, compassionate, and enthusiastic Pediatric PA who genuinely enjoys working with children and their families. We are looking for someone who is: Great with kids and able to make young patients feel comfortable Patient and empathetic with parents and caregivers Comfortable explaining medical information in a clear and understandable manner Eager to learn and develop specialized knowledge in Pediatric Gastroenterology Comfortable gradually taking on increased clinical responsibility Reliable, professional, and committed to providing high-quality patient care Interested in building a long-term relationship with a private specialty practice Training & Professional Development The selected candidate will receive structured, hands-on training under the supervision and guidance of an experienced Pediatric Gastroenterologist . Training will include the evaluation and management of pediatric gastrointestinal patients, practice-specific clinical protocols, and eventually FibroScan operation and performance. The goal is for the PA to develop the knowledge and confidence necessary to independently conduct new patient consultations and follow-up visits , while maintaining close collaboration with the Pediatric Gastroenterologist.Schedule & Compensation Schedule:

There are 3 locations at our Pediatric Gastroenterology practice, located in Sierra Madre (main location), West Covina and Pomona (which are both satellite locations). The Physician Assistant will be training initially under our specialist physician at possibly all 3 locations, but will ultimately be expected to work from one of the locations (West Covina).Compensation:
This is a 1099 independent contractor position . Compensation is structured per patient seen , with earnings based on the number of patients evaluated. This position offers the opportunity for a motivated Pediatric PA to build specialized experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology while working in a supportive private-practice environment.
