Job Description

An established community hospital in Turlock, California is seeking an experienced and dynamic physician leader to serve as Medical Director for Newborn Services. This leadership role is ideal for a pediatrician with strong clinical expertise in neonatal resuscitation, newborn stabilization, and Level II nursery management, combined with a passion for program development, team leadership, and elevating standards of pediatric care in a community hospital setting. Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and strategic leadership for pediatric and newborn services Oversee Level II nursery operations, including care protocols, stabilization practices, and quality metrics Lead neonatal resuscitation and delivery room response standards for high-risk deliveries Partner with hospital leadership, nursing, and ancillary teams to advance quality and safety initiatives Engage in community outreach and relationship-building with referring providers
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree; Board Certified in Pediatrics Significant clinical experience in delivery attendance, newborn stabilization and resuscitation, and newborn care Prior leadership/medical director experience strongly preferred Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified Eligible for California medical licensure Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, collaborative leadership, and community-based care
