Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Primary Care Physician Assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive primary care services, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic conditions. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise in clinical assessment, medical treatment, and patient education will help improve health outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history intake. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications in accordance with DEA regulations and clinical guidelines. Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, injection administration (including botulinum toxin treatments), phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques. Manage acute pain cases, triage urgent needs, and coordinate care for patients with complex conditions across various settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or telehealth platforms. Interpret diagnostic tests including radiology reports, laboratory results (ICD-10 coding), and diagnostic evaluations to inform clinical decisions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals on discharge planning, hospice & palliative medicine, and post-acute care strategies to ensure seamless patient transitions. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Participate in clinical research or clinical trials to stay current with medical advancements and contribute to evidence-based practice. Assist in hospital settings with ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience, including ventilator management, airway management, and critical care procedures. Engage in health coaching and client communication to promote lifestyle modifications and preventive health measures. Experience Proven experience working in primary care environments with a strong foundation in internal medicine or family practice. Prior hospital experience including inpatient care, emergency room exposure, or critical care (ICU or Level I/II trauma center preferred). Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is a plus. Hands-on skills in suturing, injection administration (including botulinum toxin treatment), phlebotomy, and diagnostic test interpretation. Experience managing acute pain cases, ventilator use, dialysis procedures, or neonatal ventilator management is desirable. Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for accurate documentation and billing. Familiarity with infectious disease care protocols, radiation therapy basics, or home care settings enhances your versatility. Ability to work effectively within collaborative practice agreements alongside physicians and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
