Job Description
Job Summary:
Physicians independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections and are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and/or therapeutic procedures for patients. Education- Graduate of an accredited medical school required Work Experience 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required Adult and pediatric practice experience Required Licenses/Certifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
- Active state medical licensure Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
- Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills Job Responsibilities include: Examining and treating patients Taking patients' medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow-up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented to you for supervision Job Responsibilities include: Examining and treating patients Taking patients' medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow-up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented to you for supervision Act as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process, including signoff of the PA/NPs delineation of privileges (DOP) 20 hours required monthly for per diem
