We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage at a community-based emergency department in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a physician-led emergency department with solo coverage, a manageable patient volume, and the support of a nearby full-service hospital. Position Highlights
  • 24-hour physician coverage
  • Solo physician coverage
  • No Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage Facility Details
  • 12-bed Emergency Department
  • Average daily census of approximately 30 patients
  • On-site CT, X-ray, and laboratory services
  • Affiliated with HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital
  • Access to specialist consultation through the main hospital, including:
  • Cardiology
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Nephrology
  • Ultrasound capabilities available through transfer protocols
EMR:
Meditech Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of emergency medical conditions.
  • Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and determine appropriate disposition.
  • Perform emergency procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice.
  • Manage patients independently during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate transfers and specialty consultations when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and ancillary departments to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation using Meditech.
