We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage at a community-based emergency department in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a physician-led emergency department with solo coverage, a manageable patient volume, and the support of a nearby full-service hospital. Position Highlights
- 24-hour physician coverage
- Solo physician coverage
- No Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage Facility Details
- 12-bed Emergency Department
- Average daily census of approximately 30 patients
- On-site CT, X-ray, and laboratory services
- Affiliated with HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital
- Access to specialist consultation through the main hospital, including:
- Cardiology
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Nephrology
- Ultrasound capabilities available through transfer protocols
EMR:
Meditech Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of emergency medical conditions.
- Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and determine appropriate disposition.
- Perform emergency procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice.
- Manage patients independently during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate transfers and specialty consultations when appropriate.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and ancillary departments to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation using Meditech.
