Psychatrist - Behavioral Health High Five Behavioral Health Part-Time or Full Time Leadership Position Position Summary High Five Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced, Florida-licensed Psychiatrist (MD or DO) to join our growing behavioral health practice as a Psychiatric Medical Director . This is an opportunity to help build and lead the psychiatric services division of a rapidly growing behavioral health organization. The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and appropriate physician oversight/support for our psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs/APRNs), help establish clinical standards and medication-management protocols, participate in case consultation, and work closely with executive and clinical leadership as High Five expands its psychiatric services. This position can be structured for a psychiatrist interested primarily in medical leadership and practitioner support , rather than maintaining a large personal patient caseload. What You'll Do The Psychiatric Medical Director will: Provide psychiatric clinical leadership for High Five Behavioral Health. Support and oversee psychiatric nurse practitioners as required by applicable Florida law, regulations, credentialing requirements, payer requirements, and High Five policies. Be available for appropriate clinical consultation and complex-case review . Assist with development of evidence-based psychiatric assessment and medication-management standards. Establish escalation procedures for patients presenting with higher-acuity or complex psychiatric needs. Review quality-of-care issues and help maintain appropriate clinical standards. Assist with psychiatric medication-management policies and prescribing protocols. Provide guidance regarding controlled substances, medication monitoring, contraindications, and other prescribing considerations within the psychiatrist's scope. Participate in periodic chart/quality reviews when appropriate or required. Help establish clear scopes of practice and clinical escalation pathways for psychiatric providers. Collaborate with High Five's psychotherapy providers to promote coordinated behavioral healthcare while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality. Support credentialing, payer, compliance, and clinical-policy initiatives requiring physician involvement. Participate in the selection and clinical evaluation of additional psychiatric providers as the organization grows. Help High Five develop a safe, scalable model for expanding psychiatric services throughout Florida. What We Are Looking For Candidates should possess: MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency. Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry. Active and unrestricted Florida physician license. Active DEA registration appropriate to the position. Experience treating behavioral-health and psychiatric conditions. Experience working with PMHNPs/APRNs strongly preferred. Experience with outpatient psychiatry and medication management. Strong understanding of clinical documentation, patient safety, prescribing practices, and behavioral-health compliance. Ability to provide thoughtful clinical leadership while allowing experienced practitioners to operate effectively within their lawful scopes of practice. Strong communication and leadership skills. Schedule & Structure We are open to discussing several arrangements depending upon the physician's availability and the needs of the practice, including: Part-time Medical Director | Contract Medical Director | Combination Medical Director + Patient Care The position may include scheduled administrative/clinical leadership hours, practitioner consultation, periodic meetings and, if mutually desired, direct psychiatric patient care. Compensation will be structured based upon the physician's responsibilities, time commitment, patient-care responsibilities, and final employment/contract arrangement.
