Job Description

seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon for locum tenens coverage at a Florida facility. In this role, you'll provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care, perform a range of surgical procedures, manage consults, and share call as needed. You'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary care team, ensure accurate EMR documentation, and follow all quality and safety standards. This assignment offers flexible scheduling, travel and lodging support, and the opportunity to expand your clinical experience while helping a community maintain access to essential orthopedic services. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic surgical care, including evaluations, diagnosis, and operative/non-operative treatment Perform orthopedic surgeries such as fracture care, joint procedures, and soft-tissue interventions following facility protocols Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up, managing pain control and rehabilitation plans Collaborate with hospital care teams, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and therapists, to coordinate patient care Document all encounters, procedures, and orders in the electronic medical record in a timely, accurate manner Participate in on-call coverage as assigned, responding to urgent and emergent orthopedic consults Communicate clearly with patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes Adhere to all clinical quality, safety, and compliance standards, including infection control and HIPAA requirements Required Skills Orthopedic surgery Fracture management Joint surgery and arthroplasty Arthroscopy Pre- and post-operative care Inpatient consults and rounding Outpatient orthopedic clinic EMR documentation Pain management in orthopedic patients ACLS/BLS and perioperative patient safety
