Job Description

Board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physician needed for locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida. Additional PM coverage required due to increased patient volume. Collaborative, well-supported clinical environment.
Position details Shift length:
Primarily 10-hour PM shifts Patient population: Adults only (facility has separate pediatric ED) ED bays: 33
Volume:
~1.8-2.0 patients/hour Admission rate: 26-30% Trauma designation: Non-trauma center Clinical responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergent and urgent adult conditions Perform indicated emergency procedures and stabilize patients for admission or transfer Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary staff Complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record Adhere to departmental protocols and quality standards Staffing model 3-4 emergency physicians per shift 3 advanced practice providers per shift Full nursing and ancillary support Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) Minimum 6 months EM experience Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain one Current DEA registration Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
