Job Description

Locum hospital medicine role in Okeechobee, FL — ongoing PRN assignment (minimum 6 months). Assignment details
Setting:
On-site, hospital-based (community hospital)
Length:
Ongoing, at least 6 months
Schedule:
On-site shifts (specific shift times to be determined)
Call:
No call responsibilities Hospital and patient profile Hospital size: ~100 beds Daily census: ~50 patients Typical daily rounding: 20-24 patients Daily admissions: ~12 Patient population: Rural, community-based internal medicine Case mix: Non-trauma, routine internal medicine; open ICU (physician will round in ICU)

Not specified Core responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient hospital medicine care Round on ~20-24 patients per day and manage admissions (≈12/day) Manage ongoing inpatient medical conditions and coordinate discharge planning and outpatient follow-up Round in the open ICU and manage critically ill patients as appropriate Collaborate with pulmonology and cardiology for procedures and ventilator management Perform procedures as clinically indicated (procedural competency preferred) Work with nursing, case management, respiratory therapy, PT, lab and other support services Minimum requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active Florida medical license Current BLS and ACLS certifications
