Job Description

River Edge is currently seeking a part time Psychiatrist for the Baldwin Outpatient Services location.
Location/ Schedule:
60 Blandy Way, Milledgeville, Georgia 31061 Role Summary Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Psychiatrist will be available to provide psychiatric assessments, diagnostic impression, medication management/ follow-up, and emergency crisis response. River Edge has introduced collaborative Integrated Medicine with primary physicians. May need to supervise Advanced Nurse Practitioners in accordance with protocols. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct a comprehensive diagnostic assessments. Provide psychiatric care, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent and emergent consultations to individuals with mental health needs. Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Nurses, Physician Assistants, and other health care providers. Provide patient education, specifically around issues related to medications and treatment adherence, and aftercare services. Document all activities in the electronic medical record in a timely, concise, and clear manner. Prescribes appropriate medications in accordance with pharmaceutical guidelines and standards of practice. Monitor the effects of any medication and adjust treatment where necessary. Evaluates practice in relation to professional standards, statues, regulations, departmental policies, and standards of care. Provides ongoing clinical and administrative supervision, and performance-evaluations of assigned staff. Collaborates with nursing staff and pharmacy for patient care. Maintain concurrent documentation and completion of service orders daily Qualifications Must have a valid MD License granted by the Georgia composite state board of medical examiners AND certification in one of the following specialties: General Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, or a related discipline. Specialty in Psychiatric Medicine All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test. Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members) Fully Covid-19 vaccinated. Must have knowledge and experience with the chronically mentally ill population. Must have strong clinical skills. Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Must have ability to multi-task and remain organized.
