Provide acute and perioperative care for trauma patients as a core member of the trauma surgery team. Participate in resuscitation, operative assistance, post-operative management, and multidisciplinary care planning.
Minimum qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Certified PA (e.g., NCCPA) Active GA PA license Significant experience in trauma care and surgical settings Primary responsibilities: Conduct focused histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations for trauma patients Participate in initial trauma resuscitation and ongoing critical care management Assist in operative procedures: pre-op preparation, intraoperative support, and post-op care Manage perioperative orders, wound care, drains, lines, and related follow-up Contribute to development and implementation of trauma protocols and quality improvement initiatives Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiology, and ancillary teams; participate in rounds and case conferences Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and outpatient follow-up coordination Maintain documentation and comply with regulatory, billing, and credentialing requirements
