Leads the evaluation and implementation of quality assurance programs and ensures compliance with organizational policies and regulatory and accrediting agencies. This position is 100% time, Monday

• Friday, 1 st shift.

Duties to include:

• Development, implementation and operational oversight of quality programs in Molecular Pathology and Flow Cytometry.
• Provide operational oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting agencies and organizational policies.
• Serve as liaison to UI Health Care departments, vendors, faculty, and staff for interpretation of quality policies, procedures and programs
• Coordinates employee training and continuing education, validation testing, implementation, and maintenance of all equipment within Molecular Pathology and Flow Cytometry.
• Assists lead scientists by performing additional activities when needed to ensure smooth functioning of the laboratory.

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 1-3 years clinical laboratory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with effective leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, to meet deadlines efficiently, to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and to be highly self-motivated is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or a categorical/specialist certification in a laboratory discipline from American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
• 1-3 years quality program experience.
• Knowledge of the regulations and accrediting standards of the following agencies: CMS, Joint Commission and/or CAP.
• Demonstrated ability to perform statistical and trend analysis.
• Knowled ge of Centers for Medicare, and Medicaid Services (CMS) compliance program initiatives.
• Molecular Pathology or Flow Cytometry laboratory experience.
• Experience working in an academic health center.
