A locum tenens psychiatrist is sought on an immediate and ongoing basis to meet the clinical needs of the forensic population served. About the Clinician's Workday Clinicians in this role will provide full-time inpatient forensic psychiatric services for 21 adult male patients, working Monday through Friday during day shifts, totaling 40 hours per week on-site. Clinical responsibilities include daily management of symptoms of mental illness and behavioral disorders, medication management, behavioral intervention, completion of admissions, transfers, and discharges, and collaboration with the Unit Medical Physician, Psychologist, and Social Worker to develop biopsychosocial treatment plans. Clinicians are expected to participate in the hospital admissions rotation, morning report, treatment team meetings, staffings, and review of critical incidents. Additional duties include completion of Court Reports for forensic patients, involuntary medication petitions, and court testimony for patients requiring court-ordered psychotropic medications.
