The Opportunity We are seeking exceptional surgeons for our Comprehensive Traumatology Fellowship, a full-time clinical program beginning 2027-2028. This is not a traditional fellowship. You will serve as a senior decision maker within a multidisciplinary trauma team, leading the evaluation and management of acute trauma patients from resuscitation through operative and non-operative care. Your responsibilities include trauma ICU rounds, surgical assistance, trauma call coverage, teaching across 18 rotating specialty programs (250+ annual trainees), and participation in quality improvement and research initiatives. What You'll Gain Operational Trauma System Leadership Direct exposure to regional trauma systems, EMS governance, and public safety partnerships across the Chicago trauma network Training in ACS Committee on Trauma verification, state trauma designation, and registry-driven quality improvement Leadership roles in mass casualty planning, surge management, and trauma system integration Operative Exposure Airway management and vascular trauma Genitourinary, orthopedic, and obstetric/gynecologic trauma Complex soft tissue injury and penetrating trauma Comprehensive burn surgery across resuscitation, operative care, and ICU management Advanced Training Simulation-based trauma leadership and medical direction Instructor certification pathways:

PHTLS, TCCC, ATLS, ASSET, ABLS
