This full-time, on-site position offers an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated MD or DO to make a meaningful impact in the field of pediatric rehabilitation within a thriving Medical Practice. As a Pediatric Physiatrist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating children with physical disabilities, musculoskeletal conditions, and neurological disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans that improve functional outcomes and enhance the quality of life for pediatric patients. This role demands a compassionate approach, clinical expertise, and a commitment to advancing pediatric rehabilitation medicine. Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients with physical disabilities, musculoskeletal injuries, and neurological conditions Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals Prescribe and manage assistive devices, orthotics, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment for pediatric patients Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other allied health professionals Perform electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies for diagnostic evaluation Administer botulinum toxin injections and other interventional procedures as clinically indicated Coordinate care with primary care physicians, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, and other specialists Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately in electronic medical records Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation strategies and home exercise programs Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to optimize patient outcomes Stay current with advances in pediatric rehabilitation medicine through continuing education and professional development Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and quality standards in clinical practice Requirements MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Board certification or board eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Fellowship training or demonstrated experience in Pediatric Rehabilitation Associate-level experience in pediatric physiatry or related clinical practice Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Illinois Proficiency in performing and interpreting EMG and nerve conduction studies Experience with spasticity management including botulinum toxin injections Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in pediatric rehabilitation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and family interactions Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail
