Job Description

Description This contract, on-site position offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. As a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence within our medical practice. . Responsibilities Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages presenting to the emergency department Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, imaging, and other procedures Develop and implement effective treatment plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based medicine Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate emergency interventions Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with medical records standards Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Texas Associate-level experience in emergency medicine or a related acute care setting Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required for contract coverage DEA registration and ability to prescribe medications
Schedule:
Day and night shifts, 8 or 9-hour shifts No call requirement
Patient Volume:
15-20 per shift
Support Staff:
Midlevels EMR:
Cerner Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Additional Certifications:
ATLS and BLS Paid travel & expenses
