Critical Care Medicine Job Details:

Provide critical care coverage in an 8-bed pediatric department seeing 8-12 patients per shift Board certification required with minimum board certification eligibility accepted Fellowship training required (3 years) BLS and PALS certifications required Level 2 trauma facility with Level 2 pediatric designation Required to manage non-invasive and invasive ventilation for both newborn and pediatric patients, including familiarity with nitric oxide (iNO) and ECMO Perform and manage procedures including intubation (ETT/NT) for newborns and pediatrics, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, and PA catheter insertion Perform umbilical venous catheter (UVC) and umbilical arterial catheter (UAC) placements Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, and needle pneumothorax decompression Perform conscious and deep sedation, bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), and exchange transfusions Manage ICP evaluation, ICP monitor placement, and hemodialysis catheter placement Provide temporary pacemaker management and evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues Perform X-ray and EKG interpretation, suturing of minor lacerations, circumcisions, and swallow studies
