In this ACGME-style training role, you will deliver supervised inpatient and outpatient care, performing histories, physical exams, and evidence-based treatment planning while documenting in the EHR. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support population health and quality initiatives, and use data and technology to improve outcomes. Residents participate in structured didactics, mentorship, and robust development while contributing to Optum's mission to advance affordable, high-quality care. Responsibilities Provide supervised direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings Perform patient histories, physical exams, and develop differential diagnoses Order and interpret diagnostic tests using evidence-based guidelines Collaborate with attending physicians and interdisciplinary care teams Document encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) Participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and follow-up Engage in didactic sessions, case conferences, and simulations Use data and clinical analytics to support quality and safety initiatives Contribute to quality improvement and population health projects Maintain compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards Required Skills Clinical examination and diagnosis Evidence-based medicine application Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests Ordering and interpreting imaging studies Care coordination and discharge planning Basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ACLS) Population health and quality improvement Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical informatics and data literacy
