Pediatrician (Full Time)
Location:
Family Birth Center (FBC) - 600 Medical Center Drive, Newton, KS, 67114

This position provides a distinctive opportunity for a pediatrician who values a broad scope of practice and continuity of care. The physician will have the ability to care for children from the newborn period through adolescence while helping NMC Health strengthen access to pediatric services for families throughout Newton and the surrounding Kansas communities. The successful candidate will play an integral role in shaping a collaborative pediatric model that connects outpatient pediatrics, newborn care, and acute inpatient pediatric services within one community-based health system
Qualifications Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school or recognized international medical education program. Successful completion of an accredited Pediatrics or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (Med-Peds) residency program. Board Certified in Pediatrics or appropriate MedPeds specialty certification or Board Eligible with the expectation of achieving board certification within two years of employment
Experience:
Experience providing newborn nursery and inpatient pediatric care. Experience practicing in a community or rural acute care hospital environment. Experience working collaboratively with pediatric APPs. Demonstrated interest in developing and strengthening pediatric services across outpatient and hospital settings.
Licensure, Registration, or Certification:
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Kansas. Eligible for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at NMC Health. Eligible to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable commercial payer programs. Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration. Current BLS certification and pediatric/neonatal life-support certifications as required by assigned clinical privileges and NMC Health policy. Demonstrated competency in the evaluation and management of newborn and pediatric patients. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient safety, quality improvement, and family-centered care
