A Psychiatrist diagnoses and treats patients dealing with mental illness. Assesses and treats the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems. Trained and licensed as a physician, and writes prescriptions for patients. Works in clinical settings including hospitals, private practice offices and community health programs.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and admissions. Diagnose and treat psychiatric and medical conditions. Prescribe and manage medications. Maintain timely and accurate EHR documentation. Participate in treatment planning and discharge coordination. Provide on-call coverage as assigned. Prepare court reports and attend hearings when required. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree. Completion of Psychiatry Residency (or minimum 2 years of approved psychiatry residency training). Active Kansas Medical License. Experience with psychiatric medications and patient care. Proficiency with EHR systems and documentation. About our
