Job Description

Alumni Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist for an ASAP locum tenens assignment in Louisiana. Provide inpatient and outpatient GI care, including consults, endoscopies, and colonoscopies in a hospital-based setting. Typical schedule includes weekday coverage with optional call; length of assignment and shifts are flexible. Work with a collaborative clinical and staffing team, with all travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage arranged. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations Perform endoscopic procedures including EGD and colonoscopy Interpret GI diagnostic studies and develop treatment plans Coordinate care with hospitalists, surgeons, and primary care providers Participate in call coverage as scheduled Document encounters accurately in the medical record Collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes Adhere to hospital policies, quality measures, and safety standards Support timely patient access and continuity of care Work effectively with locum tenens staffing team for scheduling and credentialing Required Skills Gastroenterology Endoscopy (EGD) Colonoscopy
