What You'll Do:
Provide primary care services to detainees at a correctional facility Conduct physical assessments, initial and follow-up evaluations Manage acute and chronic conditions across all age groups Assist with as-needed medical emergencies and coordinate care Review and approve outside referrals and specialist consultations Supervise and collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, and medical staff Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and Privacy Act policies Participate in facility quality improvement activities and staff training Respond promptly to medical needs during scheduled shifts and on-call rotations
What You Need:
Valid medical license and DEA registration in Louisiana 1+ year of clinical experience, preferably in detention or residential healthcare settings Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, adapt to changing schedules, and serve a diverse patient population Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required About the
