Job Description

Description This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential medical coverage in a dynamic Medical Practice environment. As a critical care locum, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care during a period of need, ensuring continuity and excellence in treatment for critically ill patients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex medical cases, performing necessary procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Your expertise will directly contribute to the health and well-being of our patients, making a meaningful impact in the community. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive critical care to patients in an on-site medical practice setting. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, focusing on critical care management. Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and ventilator management. Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records. Participate in rounds, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Adhere to all medical protocols, regulations, and ethical standards. Stay current with advancements in critical care medicine through continuing education. Manage multiple patients and prioritize care in a high-pressure environment. Provide leadership and guidance to junior medical staff as needed. Requirements Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Valid medical license to practice in the state of Marlborough. Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine. Associate-level experience in critical care or a related field. Proven ability to manage critically ill patients and perform critical care procedures. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends. Current BLS, ACLS, and other relevant certifications. Experience with electronic health records systems.
Schedule:
24-hour shifts (7a-7p, on call 7p-7a)
Setting:
100% inpatient
Daily Volume:
6-8 patients
Required Procedures:
Central lines, arterial lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertion Will be working independently
EMR:
Epic Must be board-certified DEA and CSR required Must have critical care/ICU experience Paid travel & expenses
