Job Requirements The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) is seeking a dedicated, skilled, and collaborative OB/GYN Laborist to join our growing Women's Health team in Glen Burnie, Maryland . Why Join UM BWMC? 24-hour in-house laborist shifts designed to support continuity of care and predictable scheduling Highly collaborative care model including: Certified Nurse Midwives OB Hospitalists 24/7 in-house Anesthesiology Dedicated Pediatrics and Neonatology support Strong backup call structure for emergent situations Remote fetal monitoring to enhance safety and flexibility Access to immediate surgical backup and subspecialty consultation Opportunities to teach, mentor, and participate in quality improvement initiatives, if desired Schedule & FTE This position is offered at 0.9 FTE (full-time equivalent) with a defined, predictable schedule that supports both clinical coverage needs and work-life balance. Additional shifts may be available based on department needs and candidate interest, subject to operational requirements and mutual agreement. What You'll Do Provide comprehensive hospital-based obstetric care, including labor management and delivery coverage Evaluate, diagnose, and manage obstetric patients in a high-acuity inpatient setting Collaborate closely with physicians, certified nurse midwives, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams Perform emergency obstetric procedures as needed Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, and clinical excellence What We're Looking For Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology Strong interest in hospital-based obstetric practice Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care Experience working with Certified Nurse Midwives is a plus About UM BWMC Experience the highest level of appreciation at UM BWMC-recognized as a Top Workplace in the Baltimore area and a Top Workplace in the USA.
