Hematologist

Job Description

Hematologist Description MaineHealth Cancer Care is seeking a Hematologist to join the D ivision of Hematology and Medical Oncology , based at the MaineHealth Cancer Center and Maine Medical Center in Portland. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in an established hematology program to evaluate and treat patients with a range of benign and malignant hematologic conditions with opportunity for sub specialization. This is primarily a clinic based position with rotations to cover inpatient consultation and inpatient care of patients with acute hematologic conditions. Prior e xperience in benign and/or malignant hematology within an academic health system is preferred, although strong candidates in the early stages of their careers and current fellows will be considered. MaineHealth is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated, state-of-the-art , cancer and hematology care across a network that cares for over 8000 new cancer patients each year. The cancer and hematology programs have grown significantly over the past three years and exceed 80% market share across the state of Maine. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups. The MaineHealth Cancer Center and Maine Medical Center are based in Portland, Maine ; one of the nation's top small port cities.
