Job Description

Purpose of Job:
This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in a clinic setting. Responsible for facilitating patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.
Job Functions:
Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and patient histories; documents in EMR. Performs telephone assessment of patient condition and determines appropriate treatment for patient under the supervision of the provider. Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies. Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients. Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room. Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at end of day. Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary. Provides patient education. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education/Work Experience Graduate from a School of Nursing 1 year of experience in a clinical setting Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Skills in assessment of patient condition and taking vital signs Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions Skills in preparing and maintaining records and reports Ability to effectively handle high-stress fast paced environment Ability to multi-task Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above License/Certifications Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification Link to Employee Health Physical Demands Compensation Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity.
