This opportunity focuses on cardiology consultative and evaluation & management (E&M) services, with no procedural responsibilities. The physician will support Cone Health HeartCare patients, interpret diagnostic studies, and serve as second-call coverage during assigned shifts. Schedule & Coverage Requirements Coverage is needed for a minimum of one week per month and one weekend per month , based on scheduling needs. Shifts do not need to be consecutive.

• Thursday:

  8:00 PM
• 6:00 AM (10-hour shifts)

Friday:

8:00 PM

• 7:00 AM (11-hour shift)

Saturday:

5:00 PM

• 7:00 AM (14-hour shift)

Sunday:

5:00 PM

• 6:00 AM (13-hour shift)

Weeks Practice Setting:

Hospital Key Responsibilities Provide inpatient cardiology consultations upon request. Deliver evaluation and management (E&M) services for hospitalized adult patients. Read and interpret echocardiograms and nuclear cardiology studies performed in the hospital. Manage and coordinate care for patients admitted under Cone Health HeartCare. Participate as second-call coverage during assigned shifts. Maintain a manual log of all professional charges and billing activities. Document patient encounters in Epic EMR . Patient Population Adult patients Required Qualifications Board Certification in Cardiology Active North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain) DEA certification Current ACLS certification Current BLS certification Minimum of 1-2 years of cardiology experience Preferred Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced cardiologist who is comfortable providing inpatient consultative services, interpreting cardiovascular diagnostic studies, working independently during overnight coverage, and collaborating with multidisciplinary hospital teams.
