Job Description

Locum tenens opportunity for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon in Dickinson, North Dakota. Overview Ongoing locum tenens coverage in a collaborative general surgery practice. Practice setting includes inpatient care, outpatient clinic, scheduled OR, and call coverage. Schedule & Workload Approximately 14 working days per month with 10 days of call. Scheduled surgeries Monday-Friday. Emergency surgery call coverage 24/7 as assigned.
Average daily inpatient/clinic census:
15 patients. Average general surgery patients during a 24-hour call: 0-5. Clinical Responsibilities Evaluate and manage general surgery patients in clinic and hospital. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care. Perform scheduled and emergency surgical cases as assigned. Required Procedures Abdominal surgery Endoscopy Liver procedures Gastric surgery Cholecystectomy Appendectomy Colon surgery Laparoscopic procedures Splenectomy Qualifications & Certifications Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible (within 3 years of U.S. residency completion). Active North Dakota medical license. Current DEA registration. ATLS certification. PALS certification.
